Indiramma Towers Flat Lottery on Nov 3-4: Thousands Await Their Dream Home in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Housing Board will hold Indiramma Towers Flat Lottery online on November 3 and 4 to select beneficiaries for Indiramma Towers flats. The first draw will cover four Assembly constituencies. A second draw will fill homes left vacant after earlier allotments were cancelled or beneficiaries withdrew. Both proceedings will be streamed live for the public.

The November 3 Indiramma Towers Flat Lottery will cover Musheerabad, LB Nagar, Chandrayangutta and Goshamahal. The board has completed the preliminary scrutiny of applications from these constituencies. Eligible applicants will now enter the online selection process.

Housing Board Vice-Chairman V P Gautam said the November 4 mop-up draw would use the existing applicant pool to allot vacant flats. The fresh selection follows field checks that found some earlier beneficiaries did not meet the scheme’s conditions. Others could not make the required payments.

Indiramma Towers Flat Lottery – Four Constituencies Go to Lottery on November 3

The next round marks a further step in the city’s Indiramma Towers allotment process. Applications had already been invited for the four constituencies. The coming draw is therefore a selection exercise for screened applicants, not an announcement of a new application window.

The board will use an e-lottery system for both days. The proceedings will be shown on the Housing Department’s YouTube channel and other social media platforms. This will allow applicants and their families to watch the selection process without relying only on later announcements.

The schedule of Indiramma Towers Flat Lottery is as follows:

The housing pilot provides for 480 homes in each Assembly constituency within the Outer Ring Road limits, except Cantonment. Beneficiaries had earlier been selected through lotteries in 16 constituencies. The latest draws will address the next four constituencies and vacancies from the earlier selection rounds.

The figure of 480 homes is the pilot’s constituency-level provision. It should not be read as the number of vacant flats available in the November 4 draw. The announcement does not give a final count of those vacancies.

Field Checks Lead to Cancellations and Fresh Allotments

The board found several problems during checks after the earlier lotteries. Some selected applicants were no longer living in the constituency under which they had applied. A few already owned homes. Others told officials they could not pay the required amount. Their allotments were cancelled or became available for fresh selection.

The November 4 exercise is intended to bring those homes back into the allotment process. Instead of leaving them unallocated, the board will choose other eligible applicants from the existing lists. This is the purpose of the mop-up draw.

The reasons for vacancies fall into three broad groups:

  • Applicants did not meet the residence requirement
  • Applicants were found to own another home
  • Selected beneficiaries could not make the required payments

These checks show that selection in a draw and final eligibility are separate stages. In the earlier rounds, field verification led to cancellations even after names had been selected. Applicants should therefore distinguish between a lottery result and the completion of all allotment conditions.

The revised selection process is also meant to avoid excluding genuine applicants because of constituency errors. The board has reviewed applications in which the requested constituency did not match the applicant’s current home address.

Address Mapping Gives Eligible Applicants Another Chance

Officials have used the residential addresses submitted in applications, along with geocoding and Google Maps, to identify the correct Assembly constituency. Applications affected by such mismatches had been kept out of earlier draws. Eligible names will now be included automatically in the November 4 mop-up lottery after the mapping exercise.

The board has also addressed requests from applicants who sought changes to their constituency details. Gautam said the aim was to give eligible people a chance to secure a home in the constituency where they live.

This correction is important in a city where postal addresses and Assembly boundaries may not be clear to every applicant. However, address mapping does not remove the need to meet the scheme’s other conditions. It helps place an eligible application in the correct constituency pool.

Applicants awaiting the draws have three key points to note:

  • November 3 is for the four named constituencies
  • November 4 is for vacancies from earlier allotments
  • Both draws will use an online system with live public viewing

As of the announcement, the board had not provided a fresh application deadline, a final vacancy total or an exact handover date for the homes covered by these draws. The immediate step is beneficiary selection. Payment, verification and allotment requirements remain distinct parts of the process.

The two-day exercise will now determine who moves into the next stage of the scheme. It will also give eligible applicants affected by earlier cancellations and address mismatches a further chance through the existing application system.
