The protagonist, DCP Satya Verma is an honest police officer and lives by his belief in the justice system. However, his life takes a disturbing turn when gangster Nana (Jackie Shroff) wreaks havoc on his family.

With a stellar star cast, Baby John does justice to the characters. Varun has played his part brilliantly and bring both swag and depth to his role.

Varun has delivered a complete package in the movie Baby John. From displaying fearlessness in the cop’s role to portraying a vulnerable family man, Varun shines in every form.

His stellar performance in a shining track Nain Matakka is particularly noteworthy.

If we talk about Keerthy Suresh’s Bollywood debut performance, she shines in her role as Varun’s wife. Solid dialogue delivery and perfect expressions are worth a watch.

Jackie Shroff looks perfect in the role of Gangster Nana. However, limited screen time did not give him enough opportunity to showcase his prowess.

Now is the turn for the beautiful Wamiqa Gabbi. Her solid yet intriguing character adds an unexpected twist to the story. Her performance is amazing but you would want to see her more in the film and her screen time was also short for reasons known only to the director.

In addition to this, the comic performances by Rajpal Yadav and Sheeba Chaddha offer brief moments of laughter. However, unnecessary humor feels burdensome.

Despite a stellar cast, the film falters in writing and direction and Director Kalees is the culprit here. The plot is too stretched and one feels bored in between.

A predictable plot with a slow pace in the first half kills the overall momentum of Baby John.

Even the much-hyped cameo by Salman Khan is at the fag end of the film and adds zero value to the overall story.
